Precautions for charging forklift batteries

Release Date:2025-02-21  Source:  Number of views:43

Charging precautions

1. Add water: Add distilled water to the specified liquid level. Do not add too much distilled water to prolong the water addition interval. Adding too much water can cause the electrolyte to overflow and lead to electrical leakage.

2. Charging: The battery will produce gas during the charging process, so the charging area should be well ventilated and there should be no open flames around. The oxygen and acidic gases generated during the charging process will have an impact on the surrounding area. Pulling out the charging plug during charging will generate an arc. The plug can only be unplugged after the charger is turned off. After charging, a large amount of hydrogen gas will be left around the battery. Open flames are not allowed. The cover on the battery should be opened for charging.

3. Maintenance of terminal posts, wires, and covers should be carried out by professional technicians designated by the manufacturer.

4. Cleaning: If it is not too dirty, please clean it with a damp cloth. If the battery is very dirty, please remove it from the car and wash it with water to let it dry naturally.

Custody

1. Storage location: Cannot be short circuited; Short circuits caused by rainwater may trigger fires and may produce small amounts of hydrogen, so batteries must be stored in a well ventilated and cool place.

2. Waste batteries: Waste batteries still have electrical energy and should be stored according to the storage method used.
